Dahon Neos Rear Derailleur

Derailleur
2005

Traditional rear derailleurs weren't designed for small wheels: long cages leave little ground clearance and large parallelograms protrude awkwardly from the frame, vulnerable to damage. Enter the Dahon Neos, a rear derailleur we developed with Suntour, to meet the unique requirements of small-wheeled bicycles. The ultra–short cage doubles ground clearance. The ultra–short cage also means that the Neos is one of the fastest and most precise shifting derailleurs on the market. Cache technology means that the derailleur body lies flush underneath the chain stays, safe from damage. The derailleur body only projects 12 mm from the chain stays whereas typical derailleurs protrude by up to 40 mm. Finally, we designed the Neos with ultra-light Rapid-Rise shifting action. Patented technology.
