Boost Technology is a powerful electric propulsion system that was designed by Dahon and Japanese engineers over a period of two years. The Boost system adds a “boost” of power with every stroke of the pedals, measuring the amount of force that the rider puts in and then multiplying it. Three custom-tuned power curves or “boost modes” are available. Advanced electronics and lithium ion battery technology make the Boost one of the lightest electric systems on the market. A fully equipped Dahon bicycle with the Boost system weighs as little as 19 kg. Best of all, Boost technology allows a bicycle to function just like a normal bicycle: turn the system off and the bike rides and handles like a normal bicycle.
