Dahon and the New Toyota Aygo: a Match Made in Heaven

DUARTE, California — December 5, 2005 — Dahon, the world leader in folding bicycles, recently teamed up with Toyota at the Warsaw International Motor Show, held in Warsaw from 3 to 6 November. With oil prices dominating conversation, the show was abuzz with new “green” technologies such as high efficiency engines and hybrid cars. Toyota is promoting the Aygo as an urban mobility vehicle with a Dahon folding bicycle stashed in the trunk for extended mobility.

“The Toyota Aygo, combined with our Dahon folding bike, is a clever mobility solution in a world dominated by gas guzzling SUV’s” commented Dahon VP of Sales and Marketing Josh Hon. “Bi-modal transport solutions are the future of inner city transport and it’s encouraging to see Toyota leading this trend.”

Dahon’s Polish representative Pawel Grzeskowiak echoed Mr Hon’s statements, adding “The Aygo is zippy little car that will fit into just about any parking space – with a Dahon bike in the trunk, you can park outside the busiest parts of the city and get to your destination by bike.”

Dahon is supplying Toyota with its Vitesse D7 folding bike. The Vitesse folds in less than 15 seconds and fits neatly into the trunk of the Aygo with room to spare. The award-winning Vitesse recently received the top rating in a test of twelve of the top selling folding bikes by Auto Express, the UK’s leading automotive magazine.

The Dahon Vitesse has been available since early November at all Polish Toyota dealers for 399 Euros. Dahon supplies folding bicycles to many car manufacturers, including VW, Audi, Land Rover, Rover, Corvette and Chevrolet.
