Working closely with Schwalbe, Dahon has developed a 406 mm version of the top of the line Marathon Supreme tires. These tires feature an inner layer of Vectran, an amazingly dense fabric woven with a patented process that is virtually impenatrable to thorns and the other debris you are likely to meet on the road. Vectran is twice as tear resistant as titanium and five times stronger than steel. Because Vectran is so strong, only a thin sheet of fabric is enough to protect the tire and inner tube, making the Marathon Supreme nearly 50% lighter than any other touring tire. The Marathon Supreme also features a proprietary new compound that features best in class wet grip. Independent tests show that cyclists can corner up to 17% faster on tires using this compound.
