Rust Block Chain

Chain
2010

The simple bicycle chain is often over-looked but is critically important because it transfers power from your body to the drivetrain. Standard, uncoated bicycle chains can rust quite quickly. Corrosion increases friction, which means harder pedaling for the rider. To increase corrosion resistance, many chain manufacturers coat their chains with a zinc coating. Which is all well and good except that this coating usually contains hexavalent chromium, a known carcinogen. Even though its completely inert after it’s applied to a chain, we’d feel better knowing that workers at big chain factories didn’t have to work with the stuff. The BioLogic Rust Block chain features a more environmentally friendly coating that is completely free of hexavalent chromium. It exceeds 500 hours in a standard salt spray test, which means a longer lasting, smoother chain.
