Biking to Work at Patagonia

Outdoor apparel maker Patagonia has a strong history of environmental activism and supporting causes that increase environmental awareness. Since 1985, the company has pledged 1% of it’s sales every year to environmental causes and actively encourages the use of alternative transportation among its employees. Alex Yanez, telecom engineer/coordinator at Lost Arrow, Patagonia, took time to answer questions about the company’s alternative transportation program and how bicycles play a role in helping the company reduce its impact on the environment.

Every year on a Saturday summer evening, a crowd gathers in the Smithfield district of London to watch the Smithfield Nocturne Bicycle Races. Here, all types of cyclists from amateur to professional race along the asphalt surrounding the historical Smithfield market area to see just who is fastest on London's inner-city streets. In 2009, Keith Henderson won the amateur category in the folding bike race, making it his second victory in a row.

Welcome to the new Dahon website!

Welcome to a brand new year and a brand new Dahon website!

About a week ago, we went live with a new site. This year, instead of just updating information about our new folding bicycles and accessories, we performed a complete overhaul of our site. The Dahon website on the surface may look and function the same as before but underneath it is an entirely new infrastructure and code base.

For the past six months, our team has worked hard to migrate our lovingly hand-coded site to a new content management system (CMS) powered by Drupal, an open-source CMS.
