Dahon T-shirt and Cap Giveaway Helps Children in Need

Dahon did a T-shirt and cap giveaway at this year’s Taipei International Cycle Show that benefited a charity dedicated to helping children in need.Visitors to the industry bike show, which ran from March 17-20 in Taipei, Taiwan, could get either a free Dahon T-shirt or cap in exchange for local sales receipts. The receipts were donated to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (http://www.ccf.org.tw), which lends financial and support services to children and families in need. Sales receipts in Taiwan have the potential of winning money through a government-sponsored lottery so their donation is often requested by charities.

Josh and Mr. Liao“We thought that this would be a small but nice way of giving back to the community,” stated Joshua Hon, vice-president of Dahon. “We chose to work with the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families because it is a fairly well-known charity in Taiwan and their focus is on helping children. We usually try to work with organizations that help build and strengthen the community at large.”

“Turnout for the event exceeded our wildest expectations,” stated Mercy Chiang, Dahon marketing executive. “When people got word of the giveaway, they started turning out in droves. Our T-shirts were very popular and we quickly ran out of them in no time at all.”

Nearly 4,000 receipts were collected through the giveaway event. Mr. Chih-wen Liao, director of the southern Taipei branch of the TFCF presented Dahon with a certificate of appreciation for the donation.
