If your ride to work is less about sunny skies and smooth tarmac, and more about rain, grit and potholed roads, then you need to take a look at the Cadenza XL. It’s primed for urban riding with Schwalbe’s legendary Big Apple tires and the smoothest shifting drivetrain on the planet – the Shimano Alfine. The 7005 aluminum frame is burly and stiff and even up close you can barely tell that it folds. But fold it does, in less than 30 seconds when you need to stash it in your hallway closet or take it on the bus.

The very first Dahon bike was created to solve a basic problem: how to quickly get from your home to the nearest train or bus station; and then how to get from your train or bus stop to your place of work. For this type of commuting (which we call multi-modal), a bike needs to fold fast; it needs to be light enough to carry easily; it needs to fold small enough to tuck out of the way on a crowded bus or train, and perhaps most importantly, it needs to ride well so you’ll want to ride it. After more than a quarter century of evolution, we present the Curve XL, the bike designed precisely for this basic function.

We designed the Ios XL to be the ultimate urban bicycle. We included everything an urban cyclist could want: super fast and compact folding, best in class Shimano Alfine hub, hydraulic disc brakes, dynamo lighting and fastrolling, puncture resistant tires. Then we added a bit more. Beautiful hydroformed frame tubes and an adjustable Dahon Andros stem. To top things off, we designed and equipped the Ios with the Dahon Valo light and the BioLogic ReeCharge, which stores energy from the dynamo hub and charges your iPhone or iPod while you ride. Wow!

The Mu XL gets a complete makeover for 2010. We’ve gone out and created the ultimate urban commuter; a bike that is extremely light and portable, but also comfortable to ride and fast to fold. We started with a Mu SL and added the smoothest hub on the market today, the Shimano Alfine. Next we added a Dahon Andros stem, a quick release stem that lets riders adjust the handlebar height and reach so every rider gets a perfect, dialed in position. Finally, we added some worthy urban components like Kevlar lined Schwalbe Marathon tires and the BioLogic FreeDrive to keep clothes clean from grease. Mission accomplished.

We’ve also equipped the Speed TR with the wonderful new BioLogic ReeCharge, a universal battery that stores power from the dynamo hub and charges all of your electronic devices while you are on tour. The only thing the Speed TR can’t do is pitch your tent.
