Uses Premium Components
Most electric bikes are built like tanks: heavy and cumbersome. With the Boost, our objective was to design an electric bike with all of the portable convenience that our folding bikes are known for. We’re happy to say that after two years of hard work, and with the help of some Japanese motor and battery engineers, we succeeded. The Boost folds to the same dimensions as our best in class 20” wheel folders and weighs only 19.6 kg, making it one of the lightest, most compact electric bikes on the market. The smooth power will leave you laughing with delight as you sail up hills and pedal easily into ferocious head winds.
A fast urban bike with all the right stuff and fully prepped for the urban grind. Puncture-resistant Schwalbe Big Apple tires provide ease of mind when navigating urban terrain, while the virtually maintenance free Shimano Nexus 7 hub gear provides a wide range of gears. The Nexus also allows shifting from a standstill, perfect for that unexpected red light. LockJaw folding technology adapted specifically to Dahon’s range of Mini-bikes allows quick and easy folding for storage or transport.
The Cadenza is an urban machine designed for hard-core riders who need a bike to get them around fast, in any weather, no matter what the road conditions. Compact double gearing and high pressure Conti slicks take care of the speed. BioLogic grips, an adjustable Dahon Axis stem, and BioLogic Aria saddle take care of comfort. Avid disc brakes and an integrated pump hidden inside the seatpost serve as prevention for urban road hazards. And patented LockJaw technology lets you fold the bike in under 30 seconds so you never need to let your urban companion sit outside.
Say “hello” to the friendliest folding bicycle around. The Ciao! features an ultra-low step frame design that makes it easy for anyone to get on and off the bike – new riders, those with limited mobility, or even those wearing a dress! The hub gear is incredibly easy to use and requires virtually no maintenance. The Ciao! includes a full complement of accessories: front and rear lights, a hub dynamo to power the front light, mudguards to keep clothes clean, and a sturdy rack to carry stuff. Voted “Bike of the Year” in 2006 in the Netherlands. Available with Nexus 7 freewheel or SRAM 7 coaster hub.
Smooth, effortless, graceful… that’s the dictionary definition of Glide, and it’s the perfect description of our favorite low-step folder. Instead of jumping in the car for that trip to the local café for a baguette and a latte, grab a Glide and cruise the streets in style. The UpRide frame geometry puts your body in a relaxed upright position – like you are walking, just a lot faster. For 2010, we’ve added the adjustable Dahon Andros stem which lets you choose your exact riding position. You’ve never ridden a smoother, more comfortable bike. And when it comes time to fold, you’ll really appreciate how fast and how small the Glide packs down. Available in freewheel and coaster versions.
You won’t believe your eyes the first time you see the Ios fold; it’s a full size bike that has the same folding footprint as our compact 20” bikes. But it’s a lot more than a compact fold; the Ios is very simply, marvelous
urban transport. It has a beautiful hydroformed aluminum frame and it’s got a rack, mudguards and dynamo hub lighting – everything you’d want from an urban bike. Even better, it’s got our new Andros adjustable stem so you’ll always find the perfect riding position. And to guide your way at night, we’ve equipped it with the Valo light, a powerful LED light that integrates perfectly with the Andros stem.
Fractured asphalt, potholes, and ruts – the Jetstream P8 can handle it all. The full-suspension design, with suspension kinematics engineered in Germany, takes small wheel bike suspension to a new level. A sophisticated air shock allows tuning for different riders and riding styles.
The Matrix is an urban bike that will take on anything you throw at it. Drop it down on the nastiest potholed roads and the hydraulically-damped fork and Big Apple tires level everything out. On smooth tarmac, lock out the fork and you can hammer away efficiently. We’ve given the Matrix a LockJaw folding hinge too. When locked down, the hinges are incredibly strong but virtually invisible so nobody will even know you’re on a folding bike.
If we were to choose one bike from our entire product line for the rider that wants one moderately priced bike to handle any type riding, the versatile Mu P24 would be it. With a robust 7005 aluminum frame, 24-speed SRAM DualDrive drivetrain, and a selection of premium components, the Mu P24 can do it all. Whatever your mood, whatever your destination, the Mu P24 is ready.
The Mu P7 is very similar to last year’s Mu XL, but with a few discriminating component changes to reach a lower price point. With a low maintenance Shimano Nexus gear hub, and optional mudguards, racks and dynamo lighting, the Mu P7 has just about everything a rider needs for urban commuting. And of course patented folding technology lets the bike fold in less than 15 seconds.
