By grinding the sidewall of a rim, you get a more uniform braking surface with a lot more surface area. The result: better braking in all conditions. Perfect for those cold rainy rides when your hands are a little stiff but you need to stop FAST.

Component

The BioLogic Como saddle is a wide, well-padded saddle designed for cyclists who prefer a more upright riding position. High quality PU foam delivers excellent comfort.

Component

BioLogic Ergo Grips lend extra support to the palm of your hand for better riding comfort.

Component

Most mid-priced bicycles use casted aluminum cranks. Casting is a cheaper technology but because it is less reliable, cranks need to be over-built and are heavy and chunky. Our cold-forged cranks are light and have beautiful flowing lines. Special touches include custom chainrings and a painstakingly hand-polished finish. On D7 models, a double chainguard eliminates chain-dropping.

Component

The Covert seat clamp has a nice long lever that makes it easy and effortless to open and close. The smooth and rounded shape means that there are no sharp corners to dig into your fingers.

Component

The zero profile Fusion+ headset allows a virtually seamless transition between fork, frame head tube, and handlepost. The Fusion+ features zero stack, cartridge bearings, and weather seals for long-term durability.

People often ask us why we use custom narrow 74 mm front hubs. It’s non-standard so it’s more difficult to upgrade and replace, they say. Yes, we concede, but a narrow hub builds up into a stronger wheel when using 16” or 20” rims. See 100 mm hubs were designed for optimal bracing angles when using 26” and 700c rims. But when used with smaller rims, those bracing angles are too small and no longer optimal, resulting in weaker wheels. And we don’t like weaker wheels. We like strong wheels, even if it comes at the cost of a bit of ugrade inconvenience.

Dahon Rotolo tires strike the ideal balance between comfort and performance. The high-pressure skinwall casing reduces weight and rolling resistance while the slightly wider stance improves comfort. The smooth tread is fast yet sure on any pavement.

Component

Featuring patented Fusion technology, our forks integrate seamlessly with the frame and handlepost. Integrated forks use a patented coupling system to connect to the handlepost, resulting in 30% additional stiffness of the handlebar assembly. The “shoulder” on our integrated forks butts against and is supported by the wider headset when encountering directional forces. Curved and finely tapered legs add a touch of flex for increased comfort.

The Luggage Socket is where you can attach baskets and bags to a Dahon bike and by attaching directly to the frame, steering and handling will not be adversely affected. The Luggage Socket is compatible with the Dahon Luggage Truss as well as with hundreds of different bags and baskets from makers such as Ortlieb, Rixen and Kaul, and Agu.
