The Boardwalk’s classic looks have made it one of the best-selling folding bikes of all time. It folds in under 15 seconds to a wonderfully small size and delivers excellent quality at a moderate price. It is the perfect starter for riders new to the wonderful world of folding bikes.
For those who don’t want to ride all stretched out on a go-fast performance bike, the Briza is a breath of fresh air. The UpRide frame geometry lets the rider sit high and upright so you can see easily over traffic. It’s almost like walking… except a lot faster. The Briza is also incredibly easy to fold: the NoLift design means that you never have to pick it up to fold it. And even though the Briza looks and rides like a full-sized city bike, it folds up almost to the size of our compact 20” wheeled bikes. Seems like you can really have it all. New for 2010 is a D7 version equipped with the Neos derailleur.
The Cadenza is an urban machine designed for hard-core riders who need a bike to get them around fast, in any weather, no matter what the road conditions. Compact double gearing and high pressure Conti slicks take care of the speed. BioLogic grips, an adjustable Dahon Axis stem, and BioLogic Aria saddle take care of comfort. Avid disc brakes and an integrated pump hidden inside the seatpost serve as prevention for urban road hazards. And patented LockJaw technology lets you fold the bike in under 30 seconds so you never need to let your urban companion sit outside.
What happens when you take the award-winning Ciao! frame platform, fit it with our Deluxe component package, and add a custom made-for-Dahon five-speed hub? You get an economical Ciao! that is priced to move. The Ciao! D5 features a super low-step frame that is perfect for riders new to cycling or those with injuries that can’t ride a bike with a high top tube. The custom Sturmey-Archer five-speed hub delivers the same gear range as a Nexus 7, but without the cost or weight. Fitted with optional rack and mudguards, it becomes the perfect town bike.
The Curve SL is Dahon’s top of the line super-light compact commuter bike. As would be expected it folds in seconds, weighs next to nothing, and is small enough to fit into a shopping bag when folded. But where it really shines is how well it rides. The BioLogic II frame geometry is reassuringly stable. A Shimano Capreo 9-speed drivetrain provides all the gears needed for gruelling commutes. Designed for the daily commuter who really wants to move, the Curve SL delivers surprising speed in a small package.
The Eco 2 is our most economically priced bicycle; perfect for riders on a budget who just want basic transportation to get to and from work or run errands around town. Despite its humble price, the Eco 2 folds as fast and as easily as other Dahon bikes; 15 seconds and the Eco 2 is folded and ready to be taken on a train or bus.
The Eco 3 may have an entry level price but doesn’t skimp when it comes to Dahon’s legendary folding convenience. It features a sturdy aluminum frame, Shimano drive train, and durable, if anonymous, components. Like most Dahon bikes, folding is best in class: it takes only 15 seconds to fold the Eco 3. Perfect when the train is about to arrive.
The Espresso is the bike for urban adventures: to the park on a sunny weekend; down the street for a lazy Sunday brunch; or to the market for some fresh penne, tomatoes, and a bottle of wine. For 2010, the Espresso gets a complete makeover. The patented new Dahon Axis stem lets you fold the Espresso with a minimum of effort and Schwalbe Big Apple tires mean that you go faster, in a lot more comfort. The new Espresso is a shot of caffeine to your cycling lifestyle.
We designed the Ios XL to be the ultimate urban bicycle. We included everything an urban cyclist could want: super fast and compact folding, best in class Shimano Alfine hub, hydraulic disc brakes, dynamo lighting and fastrolling, puncture resistant tires. Then we added a bit more. Beautiful hydroformed frame tubes and an adjustable Dahon Andros stem. To top things off, we designed and equipped the Ios with the Dahon Valo light and the BioLogic ReeCharge, which stores energy from the dynamo hub and charges your iPhone or iPod while you ride. Wow!
