Cadenza 8
- The every day, all weather bike commuter.
- Rolling smoothly over the nasty, potholed roads you ride on your morning commute.
- Park and Ride after Mayor Bloomberg passes congestion charging in NY.
If your ride to work is less about sunny skies and smooth tarmac, and more about rain, grit and potholed roads, then take a look at the Cadenza P8. It’s custom-built for urban riding with Schwalbe’s legendary Big Apple tires and the smoothest shifting drivetrain on the planet – the Shimano Alfine. The 7005 aluminum frame is burly and stiff and even up close you can barely tell that it folds. But fold it does, in less than 10 seconds when you need to stash it in your closet or take it on the bus.
- Dahon F.I.T. stem offers 50mm of adjustment for a custom riding position.
- Shimano Disc brakes deliver sure and consistent stopping power in even the worst weather.
- Patented LockJaw folding hinges are incredibly strong yet stealthily low-profile.

The bike not only rides smoothly over potholes, but its Shimano Disc brakes also ensure that you are able to come to a complete stop in any type of weather. And just in case something embarrassing does happen, the bike folds up in 10 seconds, so you can escape any situation quickly.

“Overall, I very much liked the Cadenza. Given the component package quality, the Alfine hub and the very versatile frame, the price at £579 seems more than reasonable, if not a bargain… So all in all, I’d say Dahon are onto another winner.”
